From President's Desk...

Dear Member Friends,

Let me take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt gratitude to you for electing me unopposed to the responsible position of President of this prestigious institution for the year 2017-18. It gives me immense pleasure to open my mind before you.

I have been associated with RCCI for many years and served in different positions including as Vice President twice and I am fully aware of the problems that our Members face. Our Chamber has been working in the right direction since its inception in 1962 towards development of Trade, Commerce & Industry. During this long span of time, the services rendered by the Chamber for industrial development of Odisha in general and Rourkela area in particular, is praise-worthy and the credit goes to each one of you. Without your active support and assistance, it would not have been possible for the Chamber to function so effectively.

The country has witnessed remarkable industrial growth during the past 15 years, attracting many entrepreneurs both from the country and abroad to set up a large number of industries.

From Gen. Secy's Desk...

Dear Member Friends,

I am thankful to you for entrusting your trust and confidence in me and electing me as General Secretary of our Chamber for the year 2017-18.  Without your spontaneous co-operation and support it would not have been possible for me to speak to you in the capacity of General Secretary of this glorious institution.

We are working as a team believing in collective responsibility and following the rules and regulations of the By Laws of the Chamber. The views and suggestions of the esteemed members are given due response and weightage. The Members of the Presidential Board are a perennial source of inspiration to us who always render their invaluable advice and guidance. We solicit their continued support for efficient and effective functioning of our Chamber.

The business community, be it Trade or Commerce or Industry, is faced with lot of hurdles to meet the challenges ahead for survival. Industries are experiencing problems due to non-availability of raw materials like iron ore and coal at reasonable prices, coupled with lack of infrastructure facilities. The exorbitant hike in power tariff is a great blow for industrial development.
